To enrol in any BBIP Indonesian language course, you need an active annual membership, just $25 a year.
How our Courses Work
Course Format
Each course runs for 8 lessons, each 2 hours long, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
Location and Delivery Modes
- Face-to-face classes take place at Scotch College, Swanbourne.
- Online classes are available for students who prefer remote learning.
Fees and Concessions
- Face to face course: $240 per term
- Online course: $220 per term
- Concession: Discounts of 10% are available on application to holders of valid pension/health/student cards. Request the discount code when you send a copy of your card to enrolcourse@balaibahasaperth.org

- When: Mondays 6:30 – 8:30pm
- Where: Online
- Who: Learners with no or very little previous formal adult study of Indonesian.
- Fee: $220 per term
Beginners Level 2A
- When: Tuesdays 6:30 – 8:30pm
- Where: Online
- Who: Learners who have done 2-4 units of Beginners 1 or equivalent.
- Fee: $220 per term
Conversation Course
- When: Wednesdays 6:30 – 8:30pm
- Where: Online
- Who: Learners with at least 4 units of Beginners 2 or equivalent
- Fee: $220 per term

Amanda Suyatna
Amanda Suyatna joined BBIP in 2015 and has taught all levels from Intermediate to Beginners continuously since then.
She has had extensive experience teaching Indonesian to adult learners. Her background includes teaching at Australian tertiary institutions as well as delivering language programs for government departments and private companies. Amanda holds a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics for Language Teachers from Curtin University in Perth.
Teaching languages, including English literacy for learners from non-English-speaking backgrounds, has always been her passion. She finds it rewarding to see learners’ progress in their abilities. Her teaching motto is “to treat learners as happy clients who eagerly return for the next lesson”.
Andre Maure
Andre Maure is an experienced online Indonesian language teacher who has been teaching at BBIP since
2020.
He specializes in teaching Indonesian to adult learners from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds, with a strong focus on practical communication, intercultural understanding, and real-life language use. Andre designs engaging, learner-centered lessons that combine grammar, conversation, and cultural insights to help students gain confidence in using Indonesian.
With a master’s degree in Education (Learning, Technology and Society) from the University of Bristol, he brings warmth, clarity, and enthusiasm into every class, creating a supportive online learning environment that motivates learners to actively use
Indonesian in their daily lives.
Delvi Wahyuni
Delvi Wahyuni is an experienced language instructor with over 15 years of teaching experience, primarily in university settings with young adult and adult learners, as well as across other educational levels.
Ibu Delvi actively integrates technology into her teaching to enhance language learning and learner engagement.
Since 2025, she has been teaching Indonesian language at Balai Bahasa Indonesia Perth, employing learner-centred and communicative approaches to support meaningful and effective language development.
